Rural History

I took lots of pictures at home and this is one of an old water dispenser where the village would all go to stock up on water. Its quite interesting because it shows that historically the village was really tight knit and gives the idea of a strong rural community.
Maybe could go into the history section when we talk about community etc?

Waitrose - Suporting British Farmers

Found a good article on waitrose collaborating with british farmers, could be seen another way in whcih the urban can access the rural lifestyle. As they are able to buy fresh produce from supermarkets. If that makes sense? Also how rural food is becomming a trend, as its all about fair trade produce etc. Here is the link - http://www.waitrose.com/food/foodissuesandpolicies/fairtradeforbritishfarmers.aspx

Gardening Board

Here is the gardening board, I quite like how the family are all togther, and the little girl has a little bucket. Good connatations of a family activity if that makes sense. So like a sunday afternoon go out in the garden with the family and do some gardening?

Consumer Boards

Hey guuys, I have just mocked up this consumer board for homeware. I decided to put a nice rural background on as thought it would give a better feel for Joules. I quite like it with just one picture do you? Or do you think it should be a moodboard? I just got this picture off joules as I like the whole home baking as they are the sort off items we would have in the product range! Let me know what you think.

Just found this article on a new show presented by Sarah Beeny called Village SOS!
She helps build up rural communities using a government grant, encouraging new businesses etc.
She could be an interesting figure for the project?

This is a great example of how Ralph Lauren bring the rural to the city, it upholds the country lifestyle we associate with the brand despite the fact its in London.

I love it!

Consumer Information Board

I've just mocked up this board for the consumers to fill in. Thought it was quite fun and playful for consumers to write answers in rather than an ordinary questionnaire.
If there's any other questions you think need adding in or any visuals that could make it look better just let me know.

Welcome...

Hi,

We are a team from Nottingham Trent University looking into everything rural. From farmers to fashion, we are researching all different aspects of the rural environment.
We will be closely analysing fashion, interiors, food, rural past times and much more.
We also have a strong interest in exploring how people from an urban environment aim to buy into the rural lifestyle.
So, here goes...

We hope you enjoy it!
